posted on by Joseph First
The Japanese rock band L'Arc-en-Ciel announced on Thursday that it will screen a two-hour version of its two-day "20th L'Anniversary Live" concert for one night in theaters worldwide. The distribution company Live Viewing Japan will host the theatrical simulcast.
The concert will be shown in theaters in the following U.S. cities:
- New York
- Los Angeles
- Baltimore
- Houston
- Seattle
- San Francisco
- Boston
- Chicago
Locations outside the United States that will host screenings of the concert include Paris, France; Singapore; London, England; Sao Paolo, Brazil; and Jakarta, Indonesia. The event will also be screened in two theaters in Japan. The dates the concert will be screened will vary in each country. Live Viewing Japan has a list of the theaters and dates for each location.
L'Arc-en-Ciel previously screened these concerts in May in six theaters internationally. The proceeds from those concerts and their screenings went to relief efforts for areas affected by the March 11 earthquake and tsunami.
The band released a partial schedule last week for its "L'Arc-en-Ciel World Tour 2012." The band will play at Madison Square Garden in New York City on March 23, making it the first Japanese artist to perform a solo concert at the venue.
L'Arc-en-Ciel has performed theme songs for the Fullmetal Alchemist television anime series and the two Fullmetal Alchemist films, Mobile Suit Gundam 00, Moribito - Guardian of the Spirit, and Rurouni Kenshin, among others.
