Last Tiger & Bunny Episode to Run in Theaters in Japan
posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins
Sunrise producer and Tiger & Bunny co-creator Masayuki Ozaki posted on his Twitter account on Wednesday that he is working on an all-night event to be held on September 17 to commemorate broadcast of Tiger & Bunny's last episode. Movie theaters throughout Japan will show the episode at the same time it airs on television, and will also simulcast the all-night event.
Ozaki noted that the details are still being cemented, but more information will be made available on Tiger & Bunny's official website after the broadcast of the series' 21st episode on August 20. Ozaki noted he is working hard to ensure that as many movie theaters as possible in Japan will simulcast the event.
Sunrise's Tiger & Bunny anime centers around heroes for hire — super powered beings known as NEXT who wear sponsor logos while fighting crime on live television. Keiichi Satou (Karas director, The Big O character/mechanical designer) is helming the project, and Yoshihiro Ike (Blood: The Last Vampire, Karas, Dead Leaves) is composing the music.
Viz Media is streaming the anime outside Japan as it airs.
