MythBusters' Adam Savage Cosplays as Spirited Away's No-Face (Updated)
posted on by Daryl Bunao
Adam Savage, co-host of Discovery Channel's MythBusters science entertainment show, plays a game every year by disguising himself among the crowd of cosplayers during Comic-Con International and waits to see if any attendee can identify him.
This year, Savage went incognito as the ghostly character No-Face from Hayao Miyazaki's Academy Award-winning anime film Spirited Away. However, a convention attendee figured out his true identity only 30 minutes after he walked out on Friday. Savage awarded the winner with a nod of the head and handed her a coin.
In previous years, Savage has cosplayed as an Imperial Stormtrooper from Star Wars last year; one of the Joker's henchmen from Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight in 2009; and Hellboy in 2008. To help aid players in his game, Savage tweets hints to his disguise using the Twitter hashtag #adamincognito.
Savage and the rest of his MythBuster co-hosts —Jamie Hyneman, Tory Belleci, Grant Imahara, and Kari Byron — will be hosting a panel dedicated to talking about their show on Saturday night.
