Evangelion: Sound Impact to launch on Japanese PSPs in September

The latest issues of the Japanese videogame magazines Dengeki PlayStation (ASCII Media Works) and Famitsu (Enterbrain) reveal that No More Heroes game developer Grasshopper Manufacture is working on Evangelion: Sound Impact, a PSP music rhythm game.

Sound Impact is set for a Japanese release on September 29, and Bandai Namco Games will ship it in three different packages. The regular, standalone game will retail for 6,280 yen (about US$78). The Soundtrack Edition, which will include the game's soundtrack, will be priced at 8,380 yen (US$104). Finally, a Special Edition version will sell for 11,530 yen (US$143).

Silent Hill composer Akira Yamaoka will remix the music from the current four-part film series for the game's soundtrack. Famed video game director and CEO of Grasshopper Manufacture, Goichi "51" Suda, and Kazutoshi Iida (Aquanauts Holiday, Tail of the Sun) are listed in the game credits.

In a 2009 interview with Nintendo Power, Yamaoka said that his favorite game creator is Goichi.
