posted on by Gia Manry
Funimation, Good Game Productions' RPG launches this summer for iOS, Android, Facebook

The North American anime distributor Funimation and videogame developer Good Game Productions announced on Thursday that they are currently developing a turn-based role-playing fighting game based on Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, the second television anime adaptation of Hiromu Arakawa's manga Fullmetal Alchemist. The game, titled Fullmetal Battle, will be available this summer on the iOS mobile operating system for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch, as well as on the Anrdoid mobile operating system and on browsers via the social networking site Facebook.

According to the announcement, players will be able to design their own unique licensed alchemists and challenge characters from the series, including protagonists Ed and Al Elric. Players can also group together for three-versus-three matches.

Four other Fullmetal Alchemist-based games have been released in North America. Square Enix, the media company that also publishes the manga, released two role-playing games for the PlayStation 2 videogame console: Fullmetal Alchemist and the Broken Angel and Fullmetal Alchemist 2 Curse of the Crimson Elixir. Game developer Destineer has released two Nintendo DS games for the series, Fullmetal Alchemist: Dual Sympathy and Fullmetal Alchemist Trading Card Game. This is the first game released in North America branded specifically for Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood.

Update: Funimation has confirmed with ANN that it is currently working on a pricing structure for the game.
