Ghost in the Shell's Major Kusanagi

In the above photograph, an unidentified cosplayer portrays Major Motoko Kusanagi, the protagonist of Masamune Shirow's Ghost in the Shell manga and its anime adaptations and spinoffs. In the series, she is the squad leader for Public Security Section 9, a (fictional) division of the National Public Safety Commission of Japan. The cosplayer is accompanied by a miniature version of a Tachikoma, a fictional walking/rolling artificial intelligence (A.I.) robot from the Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex anime. Tachikoma can be unmanned but can also be controlled either remotely or via a pilot in their cockpit.
