Daily Video: Hatsune Miku's Weekly Playboy Piece
posted on by Egan Loo
Shueisha's Weekly Playboy magazine posted a video to promote the joint photo spread between the virtual idol singer Hatsune Miku and the real-life idol Risa Yoshiki in this year's 15th issue, which shipped on Monday. (Weekly Playboy magazine shares the trademark of Hugh Hefner's American Playboy magazine but publishes its own, less explicit content.)
For the four-page "Pixeloid: 5th Dimension Girls YOSHIKI Risa x Hatsune Miku" feature, the illustrator "bob" drew three images of Hatsune Miku, which were inserted into photographs from a studio photo shoot with YOSHIKI. Shueisha posted an image of the feature's first page.
Crypton Future Media created Hatsune Miku to personify its software package that allow users to synthesize vocal songs without a human singer. Crypton Future Media has since expanded its lineup with other characters, and other companies have used the underlying Vocaloid software engine from Yamaha to offer other character voice software packages.
