Films selected by the Tournee typically represent the winners from the world's major animation festivals, along with Oscar winners and Oscar nominees plus outstanding new independent as well as sponsored works of animation. On December 25, 1986, Expanded Entertainment released the 19th International Tournee of Animation to record-breaking engagements nationwide. The critics applauded the 19th Tournee as the best ever!
