Sawa actually makes a one-second cameo in Mezzo Forte.
The sex scenes in Kite were a result of the director's contractual obligation to the production companies who provided the funding.
Pringle Chips can be seen when Sawa and Oburi are sitting down and talking.
In the scene where Sawa and Oburi are eating the apples, you can see a poster that is promoting the anime "Master Keaton".
