Godzilla, Alita Films Do Not Win at 45th Saturn Awards

The Saturn Awards, the awards that honor the best science fiction, horror, and fantasy movies and television programs of the year, announced the winners of the 45th awards on Friday.

Alita: Battle Angel was nominated for the Best Science Fiction Film Release award, but Ready Player One won the award.

Godzilla: King of the Monsters was nominated in the Best Fantasy Film Release category and in the Best Film Special/Visual Effects category. Additionally, Millie Bobby Brown was nominated in the Best Performance by a Younger Actor category for her performance in the film, and Bear McCreary was nominated in the Best Film Music category for the film.

The film, however, did not win any awards. Toy Story 4 won the Best Fantasy Film Release award, Avengers: Endgame won the Best Film Special/Visual Effects award, Tom Holland (Spider-Man: Far From Home) won the Best Performance by a Younger Actor award, and Marc Shaiman (Mary Poppins Returns) won the Best Film Music award.

No anime were nominated in the Best Animated Film Release category (Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse won the category).

Last year, Makoto Shinkai's your name. film and FUNimation Entertainment's Speed Racer collector's edition were up for awards, but neither won.
