Spike Chunsoft announced at the Steins;Gate panel at Anime Expo on Thursday that it has delayed its release of the Steins;Gate Elite game in North America and Europe to early 2019 for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and for PC via Steam. The company's newly established North American subsidiary had announced in March that it planned to release the game this year.
All PS4 and Steam versions of the game will come with the Steins;Gate: Linear Bounded Phenogram bonus content. All Switch versions will include "8-bit adventure Steins;Gate."
The game will launch in Japan for PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, and Nintendo Switch on September 20. The game was originally slated to ship on March 15 in Japan, but was delayed.
WHITE FOX (Steins;Gate, Steins;Gate 0, Steins;Gate – The Movie – Load Region of Déjà Vu) is providing anime scenes for the game, and the scenes will include some that did not appear in the television anime.
Steins;Gate Elite is a major update of the original Steins;Gate game from Mages with new elements. The game replaces scenes in the original visual novel with scenes from the anime adaptation. 5pb. Games previously streamed a commercial for the game last November that hinted that "world lines" that were not animated in the anime are "being experimented."
