The first 2018 issue of Kodansha's Be Love magazine announced the celebration of the 10th anniversary of Yuki Suetsugu's Chihayafuru manga on Friday. The magazine's previous issue had promised an "important announcement."
To celebrate the anniversary, the magazine's second issue will publish a message from theme song performer Perfume, and tribute illustrations from 33 other artists, including Gōshō Aoyama (Detective Conan), Hirohiko Araki (JoJo's Bizarre Adventure), Hiromu Arakawa (Fullmetal Alchemist), Natsumi Ando (Arisa), Chica Umino (March comes in like a lion), Mari Okazaki (Suppli), Kazune Kawahara (Aozora Yell), Kei Sanbe (ERASED), Karuho Shiina (Kimi ni Todoke), Mayu Shinjo (Ai o Utau yori Ore ni Oborero!), Rumiko Takahashi (Ranma 1/2), Hiro Mashima (Fairy Tail), Ayu Watanabe (LDK), Toriko Chiya (Clover), Aoi Nishimata (Shuffle!), Satoru Hiura (Hotaru's Way), and Norifusa Mita (Investor Z).
The tenth anniversary celebration also includes an exhibit titled "Chihayafuru no Sekai ~Suetsugu Yuki Hatsu Genga Ten~" (World of Chihayafuru: Yuki Suetsugu's First Original Art Exhibit). It will tour Tokyo, Osaka, and Nagoya in March, April, and May respectively. The exhibit will feature original art and manuscripts.
NTV will air 11 episodes from the television anime adaptation beginning on January 9 in anticipation of the third live-action film adaptation's premiere on March 17. The selected episodes will be linked to the first two live-action films, and will include the original episode that bundled with the manga's 22nd volume.
