Media Blasters

Representative: Meredith Mulroney
After a short delay, the Media Blasters panel opened with a pair of trailers for Alteil and Serei no Moribito.
Alteil is Japan's number one online card game, which Media Blasters is localizing and marketing in English. Media Blasters has a portion of their booth dedicated to demonstrating Alteil. Media Blasters is able to make their own themed cards for Alteil and are considering some cards based on anime properties for which they have merchandising rights.
Production I.G's Serei no Moribito will be airing on Adult Swim this fall. Currently Media Blasters is “rushing their way through” Moribito. Volumes 1 and 2 will be released at the same time and will be available in multiple packages: single disc releases, as a set, as a set with a box (with space for future volumes). The first episodes will be screened at Otakon subbed, however the dub will be premiered by Adult Swim.
After the trailers, they jumped straight to Q&A with no announcements. Some information presented during the Q&A included:
Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-chan and Punie (Magical Witch Punie-chan) are currently being worked on.
They are finishing Kujibiki Unbalance right now, and then will likely be starting Doujin Work, followed by Genshiken 2 in the near future.
They are currently working on the yuri manga Maka Maka and action comedy manga Akihabara @ DEEP; they should be out by the end of 2008.
The Gaogaigar dub was canceled due to poor performance of volume 1.
Machine Girl, which “became an instant success the instant the world saw the drill-bra,” is currently the #8 movie on Xbox.
During the panel, it was asked if Ikki Tousen: Dragon Destiny would be dubbed by the same actors as Ikki Tousen, this was unknown. However, after the panel, Media Blasters CEO John Sirabella confirmed that they hoped to get the same actors, but would not be working with the same studio (Ikki Tousen was released by Geneon Entertainment and dubbed at New Generation Pictures).
