Amazon guy probably joked anything with Amazon in the name is legally required to be licensed to Amazon and was surprised when his counterpart came up with the show. Was he gullible or calling his bluff? He'll never tell.

Yeah but from what I remember Pretty Cure was pretty meh whereas Kamen Rider is the number one japanese superhero. He's like their superman basically. |

I guess Ultraman would be Batman. At times more popular and successful but still less ubiquitous woth the culture. Although now I wonder who would be Wonder Woman? |

Ok. So it's time slot is close to kamen rider's, that doesn't prove shit. Teen Titans Go! has been airing right after Steven Universe on Cartoon Network for a long time too, does that mean the two shows are on the same level of quality and popularity? |

Their ratings (for the latest series) are in the same ballpark, yes. Last year Kamen rider average a 5.6% and pretty cure a 4.1% in ratings. Although Kamen rider has a much longer history, when comparing the popularity of the currently airing series and merchandize for those series, they're roughly in the same ballpark. Their sections in the toy stores are about the same size, etc... Actually Pretty Cure has more merchandize than Kamen Rider for the current season. |
