Um.. wow. My mind is officially blown. This is only for in Japan? You dont know how tempted I am to go into debt purchasing a Rift and getting into this somehow.

Wow, SAO's becoming a real game! Let's just hope it doesn't become too real, if you know what I mean....

Until they announce that it's true "Full Dive" virtual reality, consider me uninterested. I mean, I give them credit for at least making something, but I just don't have high hopes for this nor is it probably the experience I've long dreamt of.

I like the idea of VR but it's far far far too expensive to really care about, sadly. It requires high FPS and if the game looks even half-way decent (or more importantly, has half-way decent physics and such), then you also need a killer machine to run it....well over 1000 dollars to play a VR game at a decent performance level.

Not knowing about about the technicality of any of it, I wonder whether or not Full Dive will ever be possible? Seems like it would face a lot of morality issues even if it were possible.

Oh moral issues will definitely come up. But there's no doubt in my mind that the actual, real thing does exist. But its more expensive than any gamer could hope to afford probably.
I'm completely skeptical that this game will use such a technology, it just doesn't look like it will despite the fact that it has its own unique headset. That being said, IBM being attached to this has me curious, hence the only shred of interest I have in this. If it turns out that it's Full Dive, I'll do whatever I can to get this game when its finished and released stateside, but if isn't like that, I wager we got at least 10 to 15 years before we do get Full Dive.

Don't get to excited nothing in the description actually says it will support VR headsets it basically just describes what a video game is.

"Full Dive" technology does not exist and it's somewhat absurd that people think it does much less that it is part of this game. Don't you have any reference point for the current state of technology outside of anime?
It will definitely be possible in the future as we have many of the components right now. However, we have to understand the brain a lot better than we do to have this level of manipulation.

This looks dead on arrival for me. The past games were stale for me, and with how many other people are trying this out. I could've swore some of those assets were in other projects I seen in the past for making a structure for SAO. Plus, anime to game form rarely comes out well. They aren't like CyberConnect2.

An actually virtual reality game like 'Sword Art Online' would be cool, too bad it's probably gonna be crazy expensive (not for value for money just too much for me) judging by the pricing on the Occuclus Rift and HTC Vive. And also of there was a 'Full Dive' (which I don't they will be since if there was that would be one of the main things they'd highlight), I'd rather it be an 'option' since I wouldn't like to be unaware of my 'real world' surroundings.
