Hi hi. In reading this review of the Ranma ½ OAV, I have a question to ask. I bought a copy on eBay that seems to have the same packaging as pictured in the review, but has only two discs with the 12 episodes and not all of the DoCo songs or other extras mentioned in the review. One of the discs is labeled Disc 21 and has a picture of Ranma, Ryoga, Ukyo, Mouse on the yellow background. The second disc is labeled Disc 22 and has female Ranma in the cat suit. Did I get gipped somehow? How do I get the copy mentioned in the review that contains the fuller content when the packaging looks the same?

That sounds like a bootleg, meaning you got ripped off.

Ok, I can't win here. The eBay seller was willing to issue a refund, so I bought another copy on eBay. I bought this one because the item description says it was factory sealed. When I got it was in one of the more compact DVD packages and inside a plastic sleeve. It looks mostly the same as shown in the picture on this website but with "Ranma" written in hiragana, no Pioneer logo, no "DVD BOX SET". The inside however has 2 DVDs rather than 3 I was expecting, neither has a special features section.
Ok, so how can I win? I take it the Box Set is the one I want, factory sealed? Should I check with the seller whether the Pioneer logo is there too, if I decide to try a third time? Thanks for your help btw. |

Why don't you just go to a reputable site like rightstuf or DeepdiscountDVD.com and get the box set there so that you don't end up with a bootleg? If you've been burned by E-bay twice, why keep going back? E-bay is rife with bootleg sellers after all.

Ah, like this here?
http://store.[This URL is a known Bootlegging Website]/vdrbs01.html I usually buy stuff from Amazon which doesn't stock this DVD anymore. I usually turn to eBay when something appears to be no longer in production. Thanks for the ref! EDIT: I noticed the forum has that site blacklisted so I'll stay clear. It looks like animenation's looks good. http://www.animenation.com/d-rbs01.html |

Ya I can never remember the exact way it's written for some reason though I don't know what I was thinking putting the "anime" in there. I must have more tired than I thought when I made that post. |
