Ah this show...
Imo, one of the best looking series with its visual quality for this season. I also find Sakurako to be a fairly interesting character so far and I bet we will find out more about her past later on in the series. The episodic structure so far is also refreshing to see with a mystery show like this too. |

Watched the first Episode and it was nice, not so special like other Series this Season but after One Punch Man and ith Comet Lucifer and Heavy Object visuiallly the best. Sakurako is very intressting.

It does, oh so much. Episode 2 in particular was awful at this, guy finds a body and just leaves Sakurako there, puts two kids inside the house and then goes outside to call backup and an ambulance? What the hell. The episode rating thing seems to only have episode 1 even though both episodes 1 and 2 are in the review right now, I think that should be fixed. |

I would find it easier to get into this show if Sakurako didn't act like a huge toddler all the time.

The visuals are still pretty, and the leads are likable. But I feel the show took one or two steps backwards with episode 2.

The visuals are very nice and well drawn. But some of the antics of the police officers, as well as...
I'm willing to overlook a bumbling fool if the show excuses their existence in a competent manner (which it really hasn't, but it isn't quite as bad, either), but I'm hoping that Kujō Sakurako's "transformation" sequence will be omitted, or at least shortened; it was fun and cool in the first episode for the [Awe Element] and served as a nice way to hook the viewers, but its usage is quite distracting and brakes any atmosphere that the show is trying to create. On the plus side, my impression of Tatewaki Shōtarō has improved slightly compared to that in the first episode. |

The 2nd episode was great, with a hook, line, and then sinker. I was really tense and on edge during the 2nd half. It gets full marks for that, especially for getting me emotionally invested for the characters safety.

The points that I agree with the review are as follows:
1. Police officers are really dumb 2. The transformation sequence looks terrible and over dramatic 3. Sakurako is Inaho The points that I would also like to add are: 1. MC and Sakurako are both strangely restrictive at crucial scenes (Sakurako yells at MC for subduing the crackhead even though that saved the lives of everybody in that room, and MC always scolds at Sakurako's casualness at crime scenes even though MC knows clearly that Sakurako is a forensic genius) 2. The writing is unsubtle, the characters are essentially monologuing their thoughts I would like to disagree on one thing though. That scene where Sakurako was performing CPR on the baby was really intense, I was at the edge of my seat. The cliched lines actually kind of helped heating up the situation. But then again, all of this still could have been shown instead of being told by the characters. |

I think you understood what I actually meant, but just in case you didn't, I meant how they are both capable of moving the story forward because of their seemingly godlike ability to solve problems. I wasn't commentating on their personalities. |

I only regret that Theron Martin, for some reason, didn't take up reviewing this series.
I always enjoyed reading his reviews (Highschool DxD, Cross Ange, to name a few). His writing on previous shows had always been on the more analysis and insight side, and less on the snarky, self-superior side, and he seems to have been the most receptive of Sakurako in the preview guide out of all the writers. |

I, for one, am thrilled to see an anime where at least one of the MCs is out of high school. Sakurako may have a few childish traits, but maturity is a process, not something that slams down on you the moment you get your university sheepskin. I think we will discover that part of her development was stunted by the loss of a younger brother or friend in her childhood, the Soutaro that her young pet shonen reminds her of.
As it is, I'm so far pleased with the series. True, the "mystery" wasn't completely solved in the first episode, but that showed us something of Sakurako's character--she's more interested in the "how" than in the "who". Nevertheless, the second ep was a marked improvement. We saw that, for all her eccentricity, she had a caring nature and we got an inkling of why she has this high schooler tagging along with her--a high schooler who may not be the passive blob so many male MCs turn out to be these days. A good number of adventure style anime start out with standalone episodes for the first 1-3 outings. I'm sure this one will start an extended adventure in episode 3 or 4. Until then, I'll luxuriate in the beautiful art and nicely done animation. On the other hand, the Mahou Shoujo-like transformation has got to go. It was cute when I first saw it in Inspector Galileo, not quite as cute in Cumberlock *ahem* and OK, we get it, now drop it, she ain't Sailor Moon
