It would've been on whatever your CBS affiliate is, after the 11pm local news. As I've said before, I really do like what Colbert is doing with the show. I was a fan of Letterman, but I like that he's not just trying to continue it like it's the same show. He's had a lot of interesting guests that Letterman never would have (such as Pewdiepie, or the guy who's in charge of the game No Man's Land), and it's really neat. |

Yeah, it's really different than other late night shows in that it seems to be more geek-oriented than other ones, and by that, I mean actually current in culture and not some Hollywood assumptions from old white men.
I watched the entire show, by the way. I sometimes forget it's filmed in New York, so of course he and his audience would side with the Mets. |

Well we are talking about a guy with an a encyclopedic knowledge of all things J.R.R. Tolkien and had his own scifi animated series on the Colbert Report so it's no surprise that he'd be bringing geek culture to late night. Unlike the other late night hosts that only talk about this stuff for a laugh, he gets it.
As for the performance it was good and how about that shot of the dome? They really put a lot of work into this. Only thing is I wish they had gone full into the classic Zelda theme song, they seemed to sample it a bit, but that was all. Emerje |

My dad's assistant concertmaster to the Pittsburgh Symphony, so I was able to see this concert for free when it was in town the first time. He told me that the music was pretty easy though and didn't require that much technicality to preform. The Pokemon one, however, was much harder according to him. He was actually concertmaster for that one as well. I think the Zelda one is definitely more interesting to look at though. Pokemon's gameplay is too "samey" across each title, so what was shown on the screen wasn't too exciting. I don't have that much attachment to Pokemon either since I haven't played the series.

Wow, great to hear from someone so close to the music. I wonder how the The Final Fantasy Distant Worlds concerts are for the performers? The one I attended was great, with both Arnie Roth and Nobuo Uematsu involved on-stage and at the meet-and-greet after the concert. I gained the impression that Arnie Roth keeps working on the arrangements between concerts to make them better both for the performers and the audience. |
