When stuff like this happens both author and publisher should have the balls to just cancel the manga and print a short page explaining how it was suppose to end.

They should do that to Hiatus X Hiatus and D-Grayhiatus too!

CLAMP is a freaking studio.they are not a single author with one or two assistants(even Togashi can use that as an excuse, but not CLAMP!)What the hell happens for them to have so many breaks that would make Togashi proud?
And every time they do that,I am reminded of what they did to X.I won't be alive to see that one ending...

Actually, CLAMP is a group of 4 female artists, with no assistants beyond that.

Again? Ha... Well, at least volume 3 made it pretty clear who's been calling Watanuki. Even if it ended there, as long as I know that... And it's who I was hoping it was. Very Happy

It's kindof frustrating, but I hope these hiatuses aren't due to health issues.

It's funny, but out of the 4 series they have up in the air now (not counting X) Tsubasa World is the only one they haven't put on hiatus yet, which, to me, is probably the least interesting

I just hope they haven't forgotten Gate 7. It took a while to get into, but I'm really curious to where it'll go.

D.Gray man continued serialisation again though, no?

And, unlike the HxH guy, at least Hoshino WANTS to continue DGM. She was just physically unable to. But it's coming back like the other person said.

I'm in Japan and I follow the stories of both Holic and Tsubasa every month. It's pretty obvious that what they're doing is delaying Holic to get Tsubasa out, and also make sure that one doesn't spoil the other. They release like a criss-cross and right now, Holic and Tsubasa's stories are very, very heavily intertwined.

Spoilers for those interested in knowing the current plot, but who aren't interested in Tsubasa (or Holic):
spoiler[The Tsubasa group are in a new country where things are really... nice. Except they end up having to travel to a parallel world that exists on the underside of the world they arrived in. In this alternate world, Syaoran sees everything beautifully, but the other characters see things normally--it's actually a huge wasteland where the people that Syaoran sees are actually sentient undead spirits of some sort, and animals and such are monsters. They can hurt Fai and Kurogane like regular monsters, but Syaoran is special and gets extremely hurt by a small scratch. Watanuki warned Syaoran of this a while back, and said he'd need to gather supplies for Syaoran to save his life, but he'd have to travel into an alternate world of his own, and in this world, he'd forget everything from after Yuuko disappeared until he got out. Thus, Holic Rei's story. Now that he finished getting the stuff, he finally gave them to Syaoran and Syaoran and the group need to figure out how to use them properly or Syaoran's life will still be in danger.] <-- The Watanuki and Syaoran moments are currently going on, so you can pretty much expect these last two hiatuses have allowed the chapters to properly sync up. It's nice for those who care, like me, but it seems to be angering a lot of people who just want Holic to go off in its own direction from here. Either way, no need to question CLAMP's health.

Also, on the indefinite hiatuses on CLAMP's other works, there are a few things probably going on, though I'll have to say these are just theories based on my knowledge of how CLAMP and publishing works--not necessarily the truth. There are no confirmed reasons yet. Like with what happened with X, Ohkawa-sensei has a specific story to tell and the publishers might be telling her to do something different and because she builds things up, she doesn't like that. Specifically, Gate 7 just isn't popular and they probably gave her a few chapters to wrap things up. She probably has way too many important things to just wrap it up with something half-hearted, so it's on hiatus until they figure out what to do with it. It's a common story with manga in Japan by famous authors who have control over where their work goes and can argue with their publishers. Like BERSERK, which some people have mentioned already. Sometimes, a mangaka would rather go on hiatus than try to pull something out of their butt to end things.

This is why I refuse to get into any of CLAMP's works until they're 100% finished. I love them and everything they've produced so far, but hate eternal cliff-hangers. Watching the X anime was good enough for me, even with the obvious "crap, we need to wrap this up somehow" story line. I really enjoyed Tsubasa and xxxholic, but will wait for the sequels to be finished (if ever) before investing in them...
