Well then...this is...something

I feel like this is straight out of an episode of NCIS or 24, are we gonna have to beat up a rouge agent for the disarm codes?

This is actually very common for well-bombed countries.

What do you mean by "well-bombed countries"?

I'm surprised the bombs weren't found when the buildings were being built.

Forget NCIS (not bomb disposal people) or 24 (likewise). Better brush up on the great British show "Danger: UXB" for the real deal. That this bomb has sat there patiently for seventy years is a testament to how well the US used to manufacture things. And before you snark about "well, it did not go off, did it" sometimes they were meant not to go off, just to cause this kind of panic and mayhem.

That would be "rogue." Rouge is what women put on their cheeks.

The fault in it not exploding would be more about the detonator, right? Sometimes you just get duds. One only needs to head over to Wiki to see

Thousands of UXOs from the Second World War are still uncovered each year in Germany. The daily average is 15, most of them aerial bombs.[21] Concentration is especially high in Berlin, where also lots of artillery shells and smaller munitions from the Battle of Berlin are uncovered each year.

I remember reading about that unexploded bomb found in February, it can be dangerous outside but it's nowhere near as bad as in Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia where mines are everywhere, one step can equal death or dismemberment.

The forests near Verdun in France are still off-limits due to unexploded World War I bombs.

What if we had not attacked America, and China and Korea were still part of Japan?
