Isn't it PuffYamiUmi, named after the two lead singers Yami and Umi?

Anyone have their CD? I actually like their music. "Tokyo Nights" and "K2G" are my favorites.

Tokyo Nights? I started liking it, but after heard too many times, got bored Anime smile. By the way, I've noticed that the song for Teen Titans used on TV is not the same that the used in their website.

Different versions?

You betcha. The song they play at the beginning of each episode is an abridged version. The extended version is better in my opinion.

So the Puffy AmiYumi show in NYC was excellent! I got to Webster Hall when the doors opened, scored one of the few seats up in the balcony, and spent the night co-defending it with a nice couple from Ottowa, Canada who are also J-Pop freaks.

The band played for an hour and a half, and all the songs rocked out. They have a 5-piece band, 2 guitars, bass, keyboards, drums.

There were about 300-400 people in the place and everyone looked to be having a great time. At least half of them were Japanese, they make you show your ID at the door, and all these Japanese people were taking out their red passports.

The apparent purpose of this tour is to promote their upcoming show in Cartoon Network, and so they mentioned that in one of four prepared announcements between songs - during these, one or both of them would pull out a piece of paper from their pockets and carefully read in english a few sentences, then follow that with rapid japanese commentary and lots of giggles, then blast out another song.

I'm sorry the picture below and the ones on my website don't do the show justice, but it was the best I could do with my camera phone.

For those who missed the concert this time, in the article about the NY concert, it said that they'll have their third American tour next spring.
