Oh snap, great news! Definitely considering getting the first season DVD set when it's released!

What a welcome addition to the united states amine verse.

Maybe we'll see this on toonami one day if it gets dubbed.

Still i think Jojo really get's good once part 3 starts, stands make the series so much better

My main worry is if this is actually 'season 1' as in the first anime, or if it's the first part of 'Stardust Crusaders' since that was what got the test dub a while back. Really hoping it's the former.

As long as it has the japanese voices in it with subs, everything will be okay. Oh yeah, and no name changes.

Yay, they posted my news tip! Or at least I think so, I only sent the email about it an hour ago so either someone beat me to it or ANN just works really fast. Hopefully there's going to be a bluray release for "season 1" as well, though I'll take the DVD if that's all they're offering.

This news item has been in the works since yesterday afternoon; we were waiting on clarification from Warner and Viz.

Hopefully there's a blu-ray for this too and a dub.

Yeah I figured that was not nearly enough time to get confirmation from Viz.

Edit: Has Warner said anything about this yet? I just noticed that Viz was the only one in the article confirming or denying anything.

If it gets a dub, and it is Warner, air it on FX. Archer and JoJo back to back...

Good luck with that, it's likely never gonna happen.

It's just too risky to leave them in, you can get away with that stuff in Japan but not America.

Besides the distributor would take the safer route, which is changing the names to protect themselves.

They changed them in the PS3 fighting game and the official manga so changes are highly likely here as well.

I understand why people want it the same but also understand Warner has to protect themselves as a distributor.

Well, interesting news, with something to add.

Anime Central is of course next week. One of the guests there is Richard Epcar who voiced Joseph Joestar in the dub of the first three episodes of Stardust Crusaders that were shown on Crunchyroll last year. Anyway, the official Guidebook for ACen 2015 has been up for the last few days and one of the events listed is a screening of Stardust Crusaders with Warner Bros., Crunchyroll, and Epcar doing an introduction before and then a Q&A session.

Now, the question is whether a Season 1 DVD set is going to be Stardust Crusaders or if they'll start at Phantom Blood because the ACen Guidebook is only showing Stardust Crusaders. It is possible that they're showing Stardust Crusaders because it's airing right now and is by far the most well know, but we'll see. Viz is finally releasing the first two arcs so maybe they'll do Phantom Blood and Battle Tendency on DVD first.
