Bah, just do a Mega Man X anime already, Capcom! That's all anyone wants to see.

Don't say that, GATSU. There are plenty of people who whould rather see this than a mega man x anime, because lets face it, the MMX series is going downhill. Oh well, MMX:Command mission may change that.

Maybe not in animedom, but in gamedom. If the show visually compares to the Capcom series, I'm game (no pun intended).

Am I the only one that thinks Viewtiful Joe is incredibly lame? At least this is one more series I won't have to worry about buying.

Eh, I don't think it's lame, I just don't see what's so great about it being turned into an anime that everyone appears to be flipping their lids over it. Just another video game adaptation, and history suggests that it'll probably suck. Seems the better or more renowned the game, the worse its adaptation (Panzer Dragoon, Final Fantasy, Tekken, etc.).

Viewtiful Joe is a great game, one of the best action games currently on the market, but they may have some difficulty turning its rather simplistic plot into a good anime, especially if they can't get a large budget to make it look like the game (somewhat).

That's a load of bull for comparison. First of all you've listed OVA adaptions (well FF also had a TV series and movie that were all crappy but in all fairness FF could never live up to any expectations unless it was based off an existing game rather than some generic storyline or spinoff) with a full fledged TV series which gives VJ some space to justify the story. Second, none of the above mentioned were Capcom games to give an example. Granted Street Fighter had some bad moments of screen time, can't really say much about Power Stone but I DO know that Battle Network Rockman EXE (or MegaMan NT Warrior *shudders*) was pretty successful even if the story translation is a bit 'off'.

I'm not saying Viewtiful Joe will be the biggest thing since sliced bread, but I do think Capcom is the only game company that knows what they're doing with intellectual property especially for marketing (just look at Resident Evil) and with Viewtiful Joe there's almost nothing that could go wrong except for who picks it up in US distribution (because frankly very few distribution companies deal with a lot of AFTRA actors which means Dee Bradley Baker may not reprise his role as Joe, similarly how Ryan Drummond didn't reprise his role as Sonic in Sonic X). Maybe Konami (Z.O.E, Mystical Ninja/Goemon), Sega (Sonic, Sonic X, Virtual Fighter, Panzer Dragoon), Namco (Tales of Eternia TV, Tales of Phantasia OVA, Tales of Symphonia OVA, Tekken), Square-Enix (Star Ocean EX, Final Fantasy Unlimited, FF: Legend of the Crystals), Nintendo (Custom Robo, Pokemon, Fire Emblem, Super Mario Bros: Peach Hime Kyuushutsu Daisakusen, Hoshi no Kirby, F-Zero: Falcon Legend) Hudson Soft (Bomberman B-Bakugaiden, Bomberman Jetters, Takahashi Meijin Boukenjima: Bugutte no Honey, Tengai Makyou) or even Falcom (Legend of the Heroes, Ys Book I & II) didn't fare so well in the anime department by proof of the critics but Capcom's somehow the most progressive. So I for one WILL watch Viewtiful Joe every week before US distribution.

Oh and even if I listed some game-to-anime titles, keep in mind not all of them are trash per se. It's just for reference. Some may be good, others bad, I just haven't watched them all (or deep enough) to verify. So don't go flaming me if you happen to love Star Ocean EX or anything like that.

Actually, beleave it or not. Ryan tried getting the voice for Sonic in Sonic X, just 4Kids didn't allow him to do it. You can even ask him.
