But too bad, sales are only what matters for Shueisha. Unlike Kodansha, who sticks to authors even with bad sales...

Jump is simply just sticking to what it always has. Merciless, but look at all the hits they have. My Hero Academia at 200k at only its second volume, destroying World Trigger, which already has 9 volumes.

And an ongoing anime adaptation.
I've only read Sporting Salt's one-shot, and I thought it was just... average. It didn't had any real strong points, but wasn't at the bottom of the list, either. It was a OK read, I guess.
Hope Kubota Yūto's next manga will do better.

Sports medicine is such an exact science (though not completely). There really isn't much room for a manga like that to grow.

I didn't read the chapters, but I actually think the premise sounds interesting. And both sports and medical manga are popular in Japan, so why not combine them? Too bad it didn't sell.
