Well dang, Super Techo Arts was doing a cruddy job with JoJo. They might as well give it to someone who can do somehting with it. I mean they had 2 eps per DVD (of 13 eps). No one's buying that. My roomate discovered it at like Otakon 02 and it took them forever to actually release it. He loved it as he got a preview tape with the 1st ep and behind the scenes stuff. Yet he couldn't trust STA both price wise and if they'd ever come out with more than 1 DVD.
So this is good news, because what I've seen it looked like an interesting show. I hear it has a decent following in Japan and is a long runing manga. Oh and there's also a pretty cool fighting game my roomate got for either PS1 or Dreamcast.
Now what I'm really interested in.. what will Super Techo Arts with Sci Fi Harry? Freinds and I saw one ep at AXNY, we went back to Anime Boston at like midnight to see more, but they only had one ep again. STA has Harry, but we haven't heard squat about it. The closest thing to finding anything else about Harry was a small article about it in Japan in the US Newtype and some scalations I found of teh amnga online. (Which reminds me to look for it at the local Japanese bookstore.)
Anyway, I'm just wondering what's up with STA.

JoJo is an OVA, for which two eps a DVD is pretty standard. (Didn't the first one have three?) Synch-Point, which is part of Broccoli, also released FLCL at two eps a disc, so don't expect that to change.
I'm not sure why there were so many delays, though...don't know about future releases like Sci-Fi Harry, either. I'll ask.

It's not cheap to be an anime start-up like Super Techno Arts, even if they have Japanese backing. (See Urban Vision for another example.) Besides, the transfer for Jojo's way better than Animeigo's Ah My Goddess, which also could've been sold at a better price, but which got a lot less scrutiny from fans.

Both, and there's a PS2 sequel from Capcom which never got released here, because Mega Man 100 was more important, even though they had Jojo at E3.

I'll probably check that out eventually, but I want Robot Carnival to happen first.

There seems to be some misunderstanding going on here. Broccoli is only wholesaling the DVDs... the DVDs produced by STA.
So nothing is going to change except for where you can buy it (more places).

Yes, you are correct and thank you for clearing things up.
Now I remember that I did see the first ep did thankfully have 3 eps. Yet I heard the rest were going to have 2 per. 2 eps per dvd for an OAV is decent for somehting short (and with a huge follwoing) like FLCL, but JoJo is not well known here and it's 13 eps. 13 ,right? I'm trying to remember why my roomate was telling me.
I just don't think that's a good way to sell it. Had they the more regular minimum or 3 eps per dvd (like Hellsing) I think it would seel better. Heck, maybe even making about 4 eps per dvd would help it sell since it's not well known. I know that worked with Fruits Basket in our group (though that was26 eps on 4 dvds and a bit more expensive).
Anyway, I have toehr series to get and worry about. My roomate might get it if he finds it cheap enough, but he was real disapointed with the news on how they were releasing it and aparently still are. Maybe somehow the price will drop if they get better distribution. I dunno if that could happen.
Anyway, like I said, the real series I'm psyched about (and telekinetically charged for) is Sci Fi Harry.

Actually, it makes to sell it that way, because it guarantees them at least their money back. Now if it was twenty-six episodes, that might be another story.
