Let's see...volume 8 came out in February and sold about 300K copies in its 1st week (1), almost half a million copies before it stopped appearing in the top 50 list after 4 weeks (2).

For comparison, Black Butler and Magi volumes released near the same time both sell about 200K copies in their first weeks, and surpass the half-million mark by their third weeks on the chart (3), while Attack on Titan comes out of the gate at about 1.4 million copies (4).

So Terra Formars sales don't look like they justify the same number of spinoffs as AoT. But AoT has I think 4 spinoffs (Spoof on Titan, Junior High, Before the Fall, and No Regrets) rather than 2, and since Terra Formars has had both an OVA and a TV series announced these series might just be intended as limited-time promotions leading into the anime, unless they do well enough.
