This clearly shows how mobile games are rotting franchises. I know it's used to make a quick buck but selling out the name in the process is not worth it.

Does he not have rights to the franchise or did he just let the game be made even if he personally didn't like it?

You... do realize that these are commercials for the game, right? I'm not saying that he loves the fact that the game exists or anything, but these probably aren't his real opinions either.

Yeah, I do get that these are commercials, but I got the sense he really wasn't crazy about the game, so I was curious about who has the rights to the franchise.

I for one would like to see something like Pluto where another creator does a take on his work. Maybe something darker would be a nice change.

I guess this would be like releasing a commercial for THE WINTER SOLDIER in which Stan Lee trash-talked Captain America's costume and whatnot from the movie, right? And it'd still be a commercial.
Oh Japan, never change.

Japan sometimes just has really weird commercials for things - and not in the WA-HEY WACKY stereotypical way people seem to think. I remember seeing the ads for the Inazuma 11 DS games that showed kids playing it looking oddly bored yet still dead to the world around them, and I was honestly confused by these commercials because they didn't make the game look enjoyable at all.

Except Stan Lee is a legendary-level self-promoter, so obviously that would never happen.
I can see how someone who lost an arm in WWII might think life today is boring...
