Koike, you might just be the Lupin III franchise's savior.

More Lupin like The Woman Called Fujiko Mine, not only one of the best Lupin stories but also one of the best anime this decade? Yes please!

So this is the project with Koike Takeshi that James Shimoji tweeted about last year.
The Mine Fujiko show was my first Lupin experience, and I really liked it. I'll definitely watch this. The question is: will it have nipples? Hopefully. Official website and Twitter account. |

It will have Jigen's nipples. |

Hmm, wonder if Funi will license this?
I recall them saying that the actual show recouped its cost to acquire and dub, but saying its sale were a bit quiet. |

Anything better than the absolute garbage the TV specials have been for the last several years will be very welcome.
I think I liked the exaggerated new character design for Jigen the best from the new TV series, too. |

Like I opined on Twitter, I suspect this will be Kiyoshi Kobayashi's farewell to the role, much like how "The Last Job" was Goroh Naya's (Zenigata), Eiko Masuyama's (Fujiko), and Makio Inoue's (Goemon). Man's done Jigen since Day One, he deserves a good sendoff.
Also, the Lupin live-action film is running this summer in Japan, too. It's a "Summer of Lupin"! Also, I'm pretty sure it's not supposed to be "Lupin the IIIRD," with RD being initials. Just "IIIrd." |

I'm all good with this. If we're *really* lucky, this does all right and Koike gets to do this with Goemon too. Here's hoping for some killer action sequences in this thing.

Lupin:
There could be some sort of Kojima-type wordplay with that spelling of it. Last edited by GATSU on Thu Mar 20, 2014 8:29 pm; edited 1 time in total |

Well, Takafumi Hori confirmed on Twitter that he's one of the animators. So there's no doubt that it'll have killer action sequences. |

Awesome, definitely looking forward to this. It's been awhile since I've seen anything from the Lupin franchise.

Wow!! Great news. I love Koike and I love-love-loved the "Fujiko Mine" series! Koike's style is so distinct from Yamamoto's, I can't wait to see the direction he takes the awesome story she set up. If nothing else it'll look aces!!
