So the bulk of female characters are pretty much defined entirely by how they relate to men.

Yeah, to be honest, that was off-putting :/. I'm hoping that this turns out to be good though. Been looking for a good slice-of-life anime to follow.

I totally forgot about this one, I can't wait! The English title is a nice effort at trying to replicate the pun of the original title.

If by "bulk" you mean 2 out of 4.
I'm looking forward to this since I rather liked Love Lab

And if by "defined" you mean "described from introductory descriptions that might not necessarily reflect the full extent of the character as shown in the story itself".
And even then, Ayaka's description only has one part that refers to how she deals with men, so she's not entirely defined that way, so really, it's 1 out of 4...
As for myself, this is one of the shows I'm really looking forward to. I seem to really like shows that feature some kind of -sou complex (Mahoraba, Hidamari Sketch, Sakurasou; Love Hina's pretty good too, I guess), and I liked what I've read from the manga so far. That I liked Love Lab a lot helps too.
And a valiant attempt to give a good, proper English pun to take the place of the pun in the original Japanese… but that title length would give light novel titles a run for their money. So I'll just be referring to it as Kawaisou.

Idk why but the concept reminds me a little of Sakurasou no Pet Kanojo.

I had the same idea when looking through the characters. I hope it's about as good as that anime.

And 2 out of 2 male characters are defined by how they relate to women, but that's apparently okey-dokey. "Is a true masochist", and nothing else, for the 2nd guy. The lead "admires Ritsu", so is defined by his relationship to one woman, and by being a transfer student (and "honest" if you consider something that should be the default for everyone a "trait". I'd consider "conniving" a trait, but not "honest"). So 2 out of the 3 listed male traits are defined by females...
(Yes, that's assuming masochist-guy isn't gay or bi. Then he's defined by sexual/romantic interests who may or may not be female.)

What a shock. A character has some sort of regard for another character. Surely this does not happen in practically every single anime ever. Hilarious.

Every time the spotlight starts I think, "Wow, so soon?" but I suppose it is around that time! There's a lot to look forward to this season, so I'm excited^^
I'm not sure about this first show. It looks like it might be kinda fun in a quirky way but it also looks like it could be really boring and generic. I'll have to wait for the preview guide to see if it looks like any good.

Quote: | At first glance she's a cute college woman, but she's sly, clever, and dark when it comes to the way she handles men, and she often leaves accurate criticisms of Mayumi's ability as a “bad-man catcher”. |
Quote: | A beautiful, big-breasted, glasses wearing office lady. But her luck with men is abysmal, and since she's always getting thrown around and dumped by different men, her mood swings are fierce, and sometimes Usa and Shiro become the victims of such a swing. |
It seems a lot more explicit for these two than the others. Though I do find this line to be suspect:
Quote: | But sometimes she does show a few cute sides expected of a high school girl. |
The admiration and masochism only seem emphasized by sheer lack of definition. They sound horribly one-dimensional. A philia is not a personality. It'd be just as flimsy as trying to pass 'likes guys in tuxedos' or 'likes girls in thigh-high socks' off as passable character personalities.

Not really feeling this one, it seems to me that it could get really boring really quickly. I might still give it a try, though.
The character list is confusing to me, it's almost like most of them got plucked out of completely different animes and thrown into this one, lol.

There's more to women than looks/big boobs.
It's shocking, I know.
