My first reaction was, "Yay, that's great!" Then my second reaction was..."They can get this, but they can't get Silver Spoon?"

...I mean, I know it's not battle fantasy, but still, the manga is a huge bestseller in Japan. Surely it's worth trying at least a small print run?

Silver Spoon is a Shonen Sunday/Shogakukan title, which means it's Viz territory. Kodansha has no chance.

But definitely yay to Arslan! :D

Nice, I still remember the old anime. I'll probably check this out.

My first reaction to that picture was: "Hey, when did Ed grow tall?"

We wanna know what happened to the Queen! Laughing

(That's where the Arslan OAVs ended with their Brit accents.)

Love Arslan but I prefer the art from the OAV. This looks ugly.

The novel seems to be where the art's at, so I'm not interested. But hey, if they're going to bring over manga related to older properties only a few American fans would know about, how about finishing Cromartie High already? And I guess while they're at it, Blue Seed. The manga recently transferred over to Kodansha Japan.

Neat! An Arakawa drawn fantasy manga with a story by LoGH's creator, and we'll be getting it over here!

Sure beats watching people learn about farming. I just hope it's better than Tytania.

Very Happy

Enjoyed the old OVAs so seeing this story re-adapted by Arakawa with a new manga should be cool and looking forward to more of her art too.

Oh crap, I forgot about that. For some reason I keep thinking of SS as Kodansha, I'm not sure why. (Maybe getting confused with Shounen Magazine?)

Well, I still hold to my above statement, but with the revision, "but Viz can't get Silver Spoon?" Laughing

Silver Spoon is alot more than just watching people learn about farming - It's a surprisingly awesome coming of age drama piece that has a pretty awesome anime adaptation. I'm actually hoping to see the manga come over too Smile

Wow, i was just thinking about the original Arslan Senki manga the other day because it's so wonderful. The OAVs are still fantastic and it's a shame they were never finished. So lovely.

Arakawa's artwork does not fit the world of Arlsan Senki very well but damn if I might not pick this up because AS is historical fantasy at it's best.

Aren't there only 7 chapters of this series released? That's barely enough for 1 volume, I have to wonder why they would choose this series to release before there were a more substantial number of chapters published.
