Being raised in a house where Star Wars played a huge role growing up and anime too, I think this is hilarious

That doesn't look anything like the 1980 Anime style that i love so much also that title is just so bad it's almost funny.
With 1980 animation look i was more thinking about how that actually should have looked like instead of this flash animation stuff like: : Space Pirate Cobra,Yamato movies,1980 Astro Boy,Gundam Zeta etc I'm not even a praticular fan of the look many anime today it's more that i have grown to like it (get used to it) rather then O this digital/CGI looks so clean and robotic it's amazing not to me really so i take this crap as an insult. i would have been fine if anime today stil looked like the last Yamato movie sadly not many agree with me . |

You know this was done by the hardcore-ist of fans when Darth Vader turns into, as the AVGN would say, a f-ing scorpion...

This is just hilariously bad...!
It's not great, not even a good example of film-making. It's just so mediocre and doesn't apologize for that whatsoever. Every example of what goes on in licensed TV/movie toy marketing is on display... For goodness' sake, they're going into the realm of the Star Wars/Transformers fusion toys, here! You don't even have to bring up the Voltron tie-in... the actual Transformers/Star Wars toy line does/did exist! But seriously, it's not that good. It's a nightmare reminder of why so many TV shows and movies are so bad today -- reimagined/recycled plots of TV series and classic movies, thin characterizations and repeated dialogue we don't need to hear for the fiftieth time in a movie, the ever-present product marketing tie-ins, and the characters and vehicles that just exist to be sold as toys. Uggh! Every time I even contemplate getting cable TV back something like this pops up and reminds me exactly WHY I dropped cable TV! For everything that's good on TV, there's about 40 times as many things that remind you WHY paying for any TV is a waste of money... |

When I saw the headline, I immediately thought of this.
Still awesome to see whenever someone combines Star Wars with Japanimation. |

That gets a million points for referencing the original Star Wars Famicom game.
As a game it's pretty mediocre, but in the last boss fight, Darth Vader turns into a giant scorpion for no reason. Game of the Decade. |

It looks more early 70's. And that's a huge exaggeration on what 80's anime were like.

Hell, it's a huge exaggeration of what the 90s were like. Sort of. 80s anime was mostly subdued with a only a fringe of weirdness, but are combining robots really something to keep making fun of? I just find no humor in something so established and so often-parodied that any more iterations of the joke do not work. Especially after series like TTGL that making the experience refreshing and interesting each time. CollegeHumor's Kim Jong Un cartoons are far better modern anime parodies.

That light saber hand. Reminds me of Cobra's Psycho-gun

This was a very rushed vid. I could barely understand the references.

Japanese animation has come so far. From simply being parodied to having specific decades singled out for said parodies. Are specific genres or artists next?

Why do I still have these feels?
Eh, why not? Family Guy and Robot Chicken have already taken their shots of trilogy.
Too much imouto. |
