Snap, this came out of the blue for me. Just watched Time of Eve a few weeks ago and really dug it, so he's definitely become a guy to pay attention to. Will there ever be that second season or what?

Anyway, this film looks pretty nice . But surely I'm not the only one that thought of the Upside Down film the moment they demonstrated the dual worlds, right? Hopefully this will be of higher overall quality, if the lack of critical success for "Upside Down" is any indication.

Wonder if this film will get a home video release, or if it will take another Kickstarter project to get it out on BD. I backed the Time Of Eve release project, and I'd do the same for Patema Inverted, if I had to.

Hope that it does relatively well in theatres over there. Yoshiura is easily my favorite young/rising director.

This has been one of the best seasons for movies I can remember, with the new Harlock movie, the 3rd Madoka Magica, Kaguya-hime no Monogatari, Shashinkan, and now this?! Can't wait for a legal stream and home release of this movie!

I also just finished watching Time of Eve for the second time and feel the same way about Yoshiura. I'll be following his career closely. Also, you can add me to the list of people who would rejoice a sequel for Time of Eve, that world needs to be re-visited soon.

Yoshiura also directed the Kimi no Iru Machi OVA, the one prior to the TV show this past season. Something quite a bit different than what most would expect I think.

Also, he'll be doing the next Anime Mirai 2014 short Harmonie

I cannot wait, fanboying a little right now. GhostShell, I'm with you on supporting a Kickstarter if needed.

It was announced at the Scotland Animated Film Festival where Patema won both audience and judges awards that it will be released on BD/DVD in the UK at least.

So there will be an official English version at least.

Considering the number and type of awards Patema Inverted has been receiving, plus the news that it will be getting a release in the U.K., it seems the odds are much better that it will also receive a North American release and happily a Kickstarter project won't be required. Definitely think that Yasuhiro Yoshiura is someone to keep an eye on.
