The magazine also stated its All-Ages, sadly.

Not like anybody plays Key/Visual Arts games for the H content.
Hopefully it's not just an adaptation of the anime, but also of the Track Zero and other light novels/manga/multimedia so that the whole breadth of the Angel Beats franchise can be incorporated into the VN.

Awesome! I really liked the anime and am intrigued to see what gameplay mechanics they use. I think the story could be brilliant in game format if done correctly.

Well, I dunno about you but one of the main reasons I was hyped for an Angel Beats VN was the possibility of H-scenes for Yui and Kanade. There goes my hopes.. I guess theres always the chance they may add them later, though.

Nah, there's plenty of existing porn for those characters made by fans. And if there were H scenes you know they wouldn't be voiced anyways.
The main reason I'm hyped for Angel Beats is seeing a 'full product' from Maeda. Geting to know more of the characters and why they were in the SSS. Getting more backstory of the initial programmer of the Angel Player software. There's plenty of foundation to build on. Also curious to see what minigame (if any) they might go with for shooting since the whole 'shoot the numbers' mechanic in LB EX was terrible.

I thought this had already been in development for a long time...?
Well, anyway, SO EXCITED!! I've been rewatching Angel Beats lately, and this time around I'm realizing just how incomplete the story feels... it's so full of promise and has some wonderful scenes, but we all know that Maeda needs tons of breathing room to tell a story. There's just not enough space in a 13-episode anime for his slow-cooking narrative style to play out! In that sense, visual novels are just the perfect medium for him! I'm confident that this Angel Beats will be the best, richest, most authentic version of the story ever!!

Well, obviously I'm really interested in that other stuff as well. Angel Beats is one of my top 5 anime and I absolutely adored Clannad and Little Busters VNs as well (Rewrite was good but not at the same level).
But H is still important to me too, especially for characters I like as much as Yui and Kanade. Fan stuff just isn't the same as official art.

I... I don't know what to say other than I am extremely happy this is happening. Hopefully those of us who didn't get the answers about the world before that we wanted will see them fulfilled now.
Looking forward to it.

I'm perfectly fine with not having H scenes.
Assuming it's a VN, I'll get this game even if I have to spend my food budget. If it's a social game then no.

Great! Hope it'll put together all the backgrounds so that the story seems less rushed than it was in the anime. Would be great to see all the characters properly developed.

Why are many of you saying visual novel, when the article says game? Are visual novels considered games also?
I was thinking more of a RPG, possible shooter, or a version of a dating sim.

Visual novels are games... heck, like 30% of the PSPs game library are VNs. If it was something else, they'd go out of their way to say it was that other genre since Key only makes VNs.

A full-fledged shooter/RPG in a similar vein as the modern Fallout games would be nice, but Jun Maeda or the rest of Visual Art's would probably need to farm out much of the technical work to another studio, and how many Japanese studios have experience making shooters?

Absolutely. You can question whether or not kinetic novels are games due to there being no interactivity for the 'player' but VNs are unquestionably games.
