Those in charge did not stand up to the loony or loonies making the threats, for whatever reasons - good or bad.

And something that is supposed to be fun for people, well it isn't so much fun anymore.

Shouldn't stuff like this be done regardless of whether or not it's related to Kuroko no Basket?

So yeah, are they even trying to find who's sending this stuff? That's a horrible thing to let someone just get away with...

This has gone on for so long I'm just sick of it. This has gone on for too long. I'm sorry but I feel they are not doing enough and not taking this seriously.

I was just thinking today about this, and of course, there's another article on this. They really need to just go ahead with these events. This is practically damaging the franchise.

I've been hearing about this for a while and, even with all the background stuff, I don't actually know why this particular series is getting a lot of heat.

Anyone care to provide detail information regarding this?

(only thing I vaguely remember was that some people were salty about the work's depiction of basketball or something)

Regardless. The venue organisers shouldn't be so limp wristed about this. They need to show that they aren't going to be held ransom to a bunch of fanboy/girl idiots with too much time on their hands. Where are the police about this? Surely the police terrorist squad should be investigating just who sent the original threat and from where?

If this happened in America, this would be barred from events because you'd get sued by the rights holders of Kuroko for copyright infringement instead Laughing

That can take years. It took A-Cops 8 years to "catch" their own mail terrorist, and he actually killed people and not just made empty threats.

I think they learned a lot of lessons from that. They caught the "ricin mailer" quick enough.

Are the Japanese police really this useless? I can't believe this nonsense is being allowed to continue.

Is that your an opinion as a police investigator? This is Japan, not being able to catch a criminal is serious some meiwaku, showing your incompetence is horribly shameful. They're inconveniencing these events, and the last thing you do in Japan is attempt to inconvenience someone, whether that will be the outcome or not. (Mass generalizing, of course there are dicks in Japan too). I can't believe that no one would be assigned to the case, or those who are don't take it seriously. You think Japan would screw around with chemical threats after 1995?

They could have done it like this year's doujin event, and hold all the Kuroko circles in ONE, BIG area only and post security guards there.

That actually happened during Day 1 at the "Super Comic City" event, and that seems to have worked since I'm not hearing anything about any threats received, after the event was over (unless that information is being withheld or something).

I read that the guy doing it has personal beef with the creator.

Here, found it.
