Given the series' backstory, I'm surprised that they'd have a hiking tie-in.
Still, this is in better taste than all that fanart of Menma in swimwear. |

I'm really not a superstitious person, but hiking through the woods with an AnoHana theme makes me think of the talk of making a Titanic II cruise ship. Aside from the gloomy atmosphere of the theme, it just seems like tempting fate...

For those interested in Japanese tourist paraphernalia, the brochure is here. I think this is just a rebranding of an established set of hikes they promote (to attract passengers). Menma is associated with courses 3 and 4, out of Chichibu Station (but returning through other stations).
The two courses (6 and 7)that really get up into the hills include some transport by bus. The remaining courses don't really get very far from civilization. |
