"Steven Foster is directing the dub."

Whelp, there goes any hope of the dub not sucking.

That's okay, the show sucks, anyway. A bad dub might actually improve things.

1. This gets a dub.
2. This gets a bluray.
3. This gets a job by Steve.

Wow... I just... wow...

Glad I'm not the only one wondering why anyone in their right mind would dub this. As far as reverse harems go, it wasn't one of the better shows. Even the eyecandy was kinda lackluster when compared to UtaPri or Hakuouki.

Isn't Sentai dubbing this series because they are selling the dub to Hanabee? I wish Hanabee, Madman or any other company in an English speaking market licensed more good series like Waiting in the Summer.

I am proposing that Sentai start Kickstarters to dub and/or offer on BD series the R1 market desires. I can understand Waiting in the Summer not getting a BD if the Japanese licensor denied it, but not doing it because the dub cannot be sold overseas is ridiculous.

Let's pray that foreign English markets license Chuu-2. I want to watch KyoAni anime on BD. Sentai is my favorite R1 company but this apparent policy to dub and give the BD treatment only to series licensed in other English speaking markets is frustrating.

EDIT: MVM also licensed Waiting in the Summer.

Good cast, though I've noticed Emily Neves' name pop up quite a bit on cast lists lately. Sentai and Seraphim have been producing probably 60% of English anime dubs lately (just a guess. I've been seeing Sentai cast lists far more frequently than FUNimation or Bang Zoom casts lately...), and if she's in all of them, then... well... she's in 60% of all anime dubs period... At least she's talented! Interestingly, she's married to Andrew Love, who plays the other major character here.

While Steven Foster isn't a perfect director, he's done some good stuff. The new Grave of the Fireflys dub comes to mind, and while not all anime should get this kind of treatment, his work on Ghost Stories is classic.

Madman also licensed Waiting in the Summer as well. Other English language licensors doesn't guarantee a dub, but it does make it more likely. They have decided to dub a few more popular series before other companies had licensed them, but most of those were nearly guaranteed to do well (like High School of the Dead.)

So far two Sentai sub-only series have been licensed in the UK AND Australia and have not been dubbed later, Mayo Chiki and Waiting in the Summer. Apparently Mayo Chiki did much better than Sentai expected, so perhaps that one will get a chance at a dub or bluray later.

It seems that reverse harems must be doing well for Sentai, as they've been licensing and dubbing a number of them. Sadly, it's not quality that determines whether a dub is produced, but potential sales numbers.

For what it's worth, Madman licensed it in Australia from the start, and one of their reps has implied it will be dubbed. Nothing certain, but I'm reasonably optimistic about its dub chances.

Sentai Filmworks has a downright miniscule pool of in-house talent to work with, relative to the likes of Bang Zoom! and Funimation. In addition, it probably doesn't help that a significant portion of Sentai's VA pool also works for Funimation. You'll definitely start seeing the exact same names, over and over and over and over. Of course, Sentai could try outsourcing to California, but that's its own can of worms.

As for me, I'm hoping Girls un Panzer gets a foreign English market.

Wow, this show is getting a dub AND a blu-ray release? I'm this show's exact target audience and even I thought this show was bad.

Can we have an Uta no Prince-sama release instead? At least that harem show is fun to watch. Let's trade.
