And somehow it was only today that I realised the Z in the title is said 'zed' - which of course only makes sense. Weird.

well, when you grow up watching a grown man sound like a grown man, and you one day decide to switch the audio to Japanese during a dialogue heavy scene between Goku and Freeza, and that grown man no longer sounds anything like a grown man, that is going to be a very surprising and very weird experience.

He doesn't sound like a grown man here?

sounds ok to me, but this is 25 year old getchman talking. 15 year old getchman was unaware that this was a Japanese show and thus had never seen anything in Japanese before. 15 year old getchman had also only ever seen pokemon, digimon, sailormoon, and a few other shows via toonami and unaware of anime.

Maybe a 13 year old, at best. An adult man who probably weighs 300 lbs of pure muscle? Hell no. Even Mike Tyson's high pitched squeal still sounds manly. |

It's a perfect evolution of Nozawa's younger Goku and her speech pattern and delivery go unmatched in the role.

Can't get over how annoying these arguments and repeated initial statements have become. I'm looking forward to seeing the film and actually getting the chance to meet Nozawa, Furukawa, and Nakao at Animazement. Definitely getting my Dragon Boxes signed.

Hey, remember when fans were complaining that Ranma-kun's dub voice sounded like a girl for a 16-year-old boy?

Gonna have to agree with you, I prefer the original japanese voices in alot of shows but this isnt one of them. He's like the epitome of manliness, imagine if Superman sounded like a little girl, it would be ridiculous. It always seemed a weird choice to me. I can see maybe at the very start of DBZ when he is younger but it needed to evolve at some point. |
