So...what exactly is new about these games?

I played the Naruto games on the PS2, I also played the first 2 Ultimate Ninja storms on PS3 and also have that Naruto game on the 360.

But just like all the budokai tenkaichi games... it's always an expansion on the character roster... but nothing else..

well the Ultimate Ninja games on ps2 were all about the fighting system and crazy ultimate jutsus----the storm games have a pretty shallow fighting system and are mostly known for the story mode being really well told and animated.

I don't see how you can have the top legendary ninjas of Naruto history in these games and not be let down.

I rather have another Ubisoft Naruto game. Shame it seems they're not making those anymore.

The Storm games and the Ultimate Ninja games mechanics (and controls) are largely the same except Storm being 3rd Person. As such, they are both "shallow". There's not much to them, but they are fun to pick up and play. The strategies in the Storm games lie more in chakra, sub meter, and item management. It's more about knowing when to attack at the right time with a big finisher or combo chains.

I would like to see these games too. Ubisoft has made some of the more innovative Naruto games. The platforming sequences were fun. The Village of Konoha felt alive. You really felt like a Ninja. Though, the fighting engine for those games weren't really that good and that probably played a huge part for a lot of people. While the CyberConnect2 games are fun, they've generally followed the same mechanics and ideas since the original Ultimate Ninja back on the PS2. The Storm games were a huge leap forward in terms of presentation, but were largely backed by the same mechanics from the PS2 games. Both the Ubisoft and Storm games are good, but for entirely different reasons. I just think Ubisoft had some of the better ideas to bring the series into new territory.

Have you played the UN ps2 games? They might look the same but they have a lot more depth than the current storm series...

The only detractor I can think of for the Storm games is that they generally tend to be more spam friendly with characters like Deidara. If anything, I'd say the UN games are more "balanced", but they hardly have any depth to the fighting system that's no different from the Storm games. My point is that they're both pretty simple fighters.
