Since when has dressing in a style that older people see as 'weird' been "not a normal part of childhood"? I still remember my goth phase, emo phase, and lolita phase.
I don't like the sexualization of children, and I worry about how young kids start worrying about appearance, but to act as if one particular trend (especially one that puts emphasis on modesty and innocence) is doing more damage than others is silly.

What a ghastly and aberrant custom this is.
But don't just take my word for it! Ask our now-enlightened proletariat.

If UK TV were a meme, it'd be a face of a man who was droped on his head as a baby with the following written on it;
"REFUSE TO AIR ANIME (AND ANYTHING FOR A TEENAGE AUDAICNE THAT ISN'T VAPPID CRAP"
"TALK BADLY ABOUT ANIME OPENLY"

Talk about your pot calling kettle, and from a woman what has a crew of broadcast makeup artists spend 1 to 2 hours in the studio makeup room trying to make her look like something under 25, but failing miserably? I aplaud the mother for sticking up for her daughter, but she was being much too polite. I would have come back to the comment of "it's not normal" with "why not? It works for you doesn't it?". Thankfully the ratings of Daybreak are just as abismal as the presenters so if it wasn't posted here I would have never seen this anyway.
Oh the Daily Mail. The paper that gave us the infamous anime article headline
"BAN THIS FILTH".
A newspaper only good for lining the bottom of bird cages.

> Reads "The Daily Mail"
> Stops reading as I realise the rest of what they say will be BS.
Also, a note for the non-English viewers: No one in England watches Daybreak. We have no idea why it's still on xD
EDIT:
Quote: | It's not normal though is it? |
Neither's the amount of time make up is applied to you backstage darlin'!
Have to say though, Venus' Mum is awesome.
