Sony killed off this service in the US, and Europe last year as well. Though you can still purchase remaining content and view your stuff.
It makes sense though, Vita's already out in Japan, and will be out elsewhere by the end of the month. Hopefully any Sony comics service in the future won't be tied by the success of a single hardware platform. It should be a universal store that runs on Vita, PS3, Sony phones, tablets, etc.

That's true, and whoa PSP comic is ending in Japan. Oh man, there's goes reading comic book on PSP. But the question is: Will comic service go to PS3 or Vita or both??

Sony removing or ceasing service of a application isn't really all that shocking to me. Just look at the PS3, if you want an example of Sony removing content.
Sony likely removed the comic service either because the service wasn't bringing enough revenue or something around that line.

I wouldn't be surprised.
