Good job, Japan. Don't bother asking the female students where they want to work when they grow up. Make sure they know they just need to marry a good man.

As noted in the article, Japanese men were also asked where they want their spouses or spouses-to-be to work at.

Oh come on, you expected the poster above to actually read the article before making some knee-jerk post?

Quite interesting~
Women want their husbands to work for a video game company where as men want their wives to work for a cell phone company...

I guess they just want free stuff more than anything!!!
(Wouldn't mind if my husband gave me the newest Super Smash Bros. game!) ;D

Sounds like: What do you think, which company have enough bright future for your (imagined) husband/wife? Well, the list if fine, except NEC. They always loose their markets since the glorious 80s. They need a brave and talented chief, because now they have many coward "mr. excuse" in almost every department. I would choose Shiseido too as a man. They grow steadily and i expect fine woman from them (i bet this logic lead some male folks to UNIQLO too). The position of Toto is interesting too. Maybe girls expect some sci-fi toilet from their lab. Laughing No luck for Tepco guys today.

While it does make me happy to see Nintendo first, I would have liked to see Square Enix on that list as well.

Back in the day I used to really like Sony, but given recent events and the fact they have changed so much, so I can't say I really would pick them.

I have to admit this is an interesting poll. Just think when they have those "omiai" service will the guys be able to put game prospects down on their resumes?

As expected of Japan. Career before family is a common sense.

Some of the companies off the list don't seem to be doing too well recently. Nintendo and Toyota (maybe Sony) rely too much on foreign markets (EU, NA, etc...) to keep their profits growing (In fact 80% of Nintendo's profits come overseas.) The strong yen isn't helping them and their sales have not been bright. Nintendo had many failures recently with low Wii and 3DS sales (had to cut price for 3DS). Toyota sales have not been doing well either, but maybe they'll turn around next year when they release their new product line (The 2012 Camry is only one of them so far).

There has been a strong turn around for 3DS ever since the price cut and Super Mario 3D Land but I agree that th strong yen is not only hurting Nintendo, but most Japanese companies in general. Still, Nintendo is said to have the lowest turnover rate for a company, and right now they're doing some large mass recruitment to get fresh new blood for their HD generation with the WiiU.

It's intriguing that with the alleged popularity of "LovePlus" on the 3DS that Nintendo isn't on the Males list, but on the females? Laughing

Girls like video games, men like cellphones.

Makes perfect sense.
