I know of several anime clubs that are also hosting events for the return of the Sailor Moon manga!
In particular the DC Anime Club and my own little club in South Eastern KY. I'm sure there are many more as well! |

If you think about it, it doesn't make sense that Funimation is involved in it at all. If Forbidden Planet had a realease party for Naruto, Bleach or Pokemon would Funimation be giving prizes for the cosplay contest?

I'm kind of curious about what Funimation is going to be giving out at a Sailor Moon party. C'mon guys, just announce the license already, people want to hand you fistfuls of cash over the internet already, so what's the hold up?

As big as FUNimation is, they might first choice to even re-dub the classic anime series.
In fact, any studio will do...except 4Kids! |

There's no might about it. Unless Takeuchi says no, redubbing is the best choice. |

Mine shipped yesterday, so I should see them in a few days. Did you preorder them? |

Sweet to hear such a large comicbook store doing this, unfortunately I live nowhere near NYC. But I do live near
a Books-a-Million that's closing this week and just picked up my Sailor Moon and Sailor V manga tonight. They are so beautiful, waiting 60 days for the next volumes will be painful. |

yes I did :< about a month or 2 ago when borders announced they were closing up for good (where I live, the closest reliable bookstore is a borders, so my original plan was to get it on release day). I guess I didn't do it soon enough. fooey. --- I hope the Funimation representative doesn't get attacked too badly by the Sailor Moon fans asking them about re-licensing the anime |

Large? I've always found that store cramped has hell with all the bookshelves. then again this is New York most stores are cramped. So Funimation is conducting covert studies on sailor moon fans. |

As for why FUNi's involved, Rojas explained it a bit on Facebook and now here's Sophie's response from the forum.

And the hopes of a Sailor Moon rescue and announcement has once again been dashed.
It'd still be nice if it does get rescued again though - I'd love to see it, since I didn't as a little kid. I plan to pick up the manga at some point, although I'm kinda hoping my library will get it first so I'm not blind-buying it. |

I want the anime to be remastered and released on dvd!~ Sailor Moon was like my childhood basically! I love it! Re-dubbing would be nice, the other dub cut out scenes and stuff :/ Though I am pretty used to the dub's VAs.
I am so buying the manga! I have a few volumes of the older print from TP. |
