Jeeze Bandai is it so hard for you to wait and cross promote? Have the games division localize the 3DS port and release your stuff around then.

Who gives a rat's ass about the manga? We've been waiting forever to get the English dub of the anime. On top of that, Bandai Namco didn't get Tales of Vesperia. Delays delays delays and what comes out quick are stuff that don't matter as much.

Are they even dubbing the anime? I hope they know what their doing, as the 3DS port around these releases will surely help.

From what I can tell it seems Tales of the Abyss is sub-only according to this listing: http://www.mania.com/bandai-announces-june-anime-slate_article_129164.html
http://www.mania.com/tales-abyss-part-1-also-wlimited-edition_article_129159.html Its too bad was hoping for a dub to at least get a Bluray release but instead its DVD sub-only release, I'm really losing hope on Bandai. |

I'm not too enthused by this. I've read fansubs of the Tales of the Abyss manga that's out there, and it's not that hot - especially not compared to the characterization and story in the game.

Ugh, why are they even doing this? The manga wasn't good, and the anime was pretty mediocre too. Even as a Tales fan I could barely get through the game. I can't believe that out of all the games in the series this one is the most popular.

I'm really hoping this is to drum up some interest for the 3DS port...
If not, I'm still happy. Abyss is my favorite! |

In America, Symphonia is actually probably what most people find to be the most popular, and it's easily the best selling Tales game over here as well. None of the Tales games released in America are among the best in the series, though, and popularity is an entirely different story in Japan. Recently, Graces has become seriously popular, and Destiny, which is the greatest selling Tales game of all time, is still popular after 14 years(the fact that 2008's Destiny: Director's Cut is considered by a lot of people to be the best game in the series didn't hurt). Vesperia also has gotten a pretty good following over there since the PS3 version. A number of other amazing games in the series that are very highly acclaimed by those who play it that, for one reason or another, still don't get too much attention exist, though. Rebirth is a perfect example of this. A lot of people think it's the best as well(including myself), but it doesn't get too much attention from Namdai in the escort titles. |

I already preordered the LE. I have all the Code Geass LEs so I know what to expect (and rather like the double packs).
Well, maybe sales on this will bring more of the Tales anime over to be licensed, like the Syphonia series or Vesperia movie. Or, maybe it'll even help more games in getting licensed too (depending on how close Bandai Ent. is to Namco-Bandai). |

So, I'll definitely get the limited edition DVDs that comes with manga at the cost of 5 extra dollars.
Never seen/read 'em both anime and manga before (though I've played through the entire Abyss on PS2). |

They're releasing the manga that are not the same story of the game. They are the extra ones that they are releasing, so the article says. The one of Jade's takes place after w/ flash backs. The game itself changes moods halfway through. You've gotta get passed Luke being a jerk. Personally, I don't like ToLegendia (never finished it). And, actually, its always seemed that ToSymphonia is the most popular. Tales fans may have their own personal faves (Destiny is mine) but considering its age and how much fandom stuff still comes out for Symphonia, and the fact that the OVA is still being released, it seems to be the most popular. |

Happy about the comic even if it's not the favorite of the side stories for me. Still both of them were pretty good, and I'll pick up both I think.
I'm annoyed though not THAT surprised by the lack of bluray with the anime. Yet again I'll be skipping the US release of a Bandai title and importing from Japan :/ If they had dub, I would get it, but with lack of dub no way am I double dipping when one of those things is a Japanese bluray. And the pretty and awesome of TotA anime is totally worth the bluray. |
