Hmm... I doubt it... but I think it was well rounded enough to get support from a wider audience, which is explains how high it got. BTW, what came out during that time? I forget

The immense popularity might have more to do with Aniplex's aggressive marketing and the "otaku pride" theme they have going on. With all the pre-release hype, sales of the light novels skyrocketed even before the show aired, so it's position as season favorite was in part predetermined.

Wow, so Normal-tan isn't even on the BD/DVD cover when it contains her only single episode?

Terrible packaging.

Fall '10? Yeah, was definately the best show of that season, barely beating out Mitsudomoe.
