Cool picture. Ironically Darth Vader helmet is modelled after a samurai helmet. To be exact, Vader's helmet is modeled after Date Masamune's helmet.

You know, I've seen a lot of different versions of a Darth Vader costume over the years, but this might be one of my favorites.

George Lucas has openly acknowledged his debt to Akira Kurosawa, so the Japanese influence on Star Wars is unmistakable.

Lucas and fellow Kurosawa admirer Francis Ford Coppola, in fact, helped finance Akira Kurosawa's 1980 film, "Kagemusha."

And Lucas reportedly named the Star Wars character Yoda after a real life Japanese person, Yoshikata Yoda, the screenwriter for a number of movies by the great Japanese filmmaker Kenji Mizoguchi.

Very awesome. I can totally see that in some manga or graphic novel re-imaging of the Star Wars saga in a feudal Japan setting. Very Happy
