Hm, Gatsu may have a point but at the same time, Gantz isn't something like Dragon Ball or Speed Racer.
It can be marketed as it is: A Violent Japanese Sci-fi flick.
Which god knows we need more of now days, and Gantz as franchise is somewhat established here in the states thanks to the anime.

What be even better though is if Dark Horse even pushed a bit at the movies, which could always help.
I live near Austin so I'm quite excited to see them.

If they could put a screening in Tampa or possible Sarasota, I would be all for it. Thanks!

I agree with Gatsu, If they throw too much money at it, it only hurt the industry.

I'm so sick of hearing about how another project failed in the US.

But, if this come near me I'll definitely be seeing it.

Urahara Out!!

Well, at least this movie can't be any worse than the Dragon Ball movie. Though I am not too much money is being throw at this project, throw too much and it might spell disastrous results.

Wow! That really is a lot of theaters.

I was hoping for a special red carpet premiere in the US with the stars and director. Oh, well~ I'll still get to see Nino, MatsuKen, Kanata, and maybe Yuriko kick arse on the big screen. \o/

I hope these get a theatrical release in Canada. They'll probably suck, but I'll be there. I wonder if the infamous Butter Dog scene will remain intact? Very Happy

Man, what are they thinking? No one's going to watch this!

Except i'm definitely going to watch it.

If they bill it as "starring that kid from Letter from Iwo Jima!" maybe that would fill some more seats.

Fathom Events don't cost very much to produce up-front, they just can't be nearly as successful as a regular run (since they're usually one-night only, and only during days of the week where theaters are typically empty). They also don't qualify anybody for Oscars, which some Japanese producers/directors are unhealthily obsessed with.

I'm glad to see it getting a better than usual release, although dubbing live action content is a major turn off for me. I don't mind it for animation since even the original vocals were something thrown in at the last minute over visuals that already existed, but live action is a different case altogether.

The way an actor looks, sounds and carries themselves is a major part of a performance. Dubbing throws all of that out of wack.
