Even though their profit margins are pretty tight, taking over a company that does $22.74million in sales for $6.3million seems all kinds of wrong.
A few minor improvements in overhead costs and they could easily make back what they spent buying the company in a couple of years. Seems a massive undervaluation to me.

I agree. I just hope they know what they are doing. I would really hate to see AIC get in the red and then shutdown.

They might handle that much in sales, but they're only making $330,000 off of it which doesn't seem like much. What's more important is what they're worth in licenses which is probably what Oizumi was interested in. Much like when Aruze bought SNK 10 years ago (and eventually sold it), I think Oizumi was more interested in buying AIC for their properties rather than as an animation studio. Should be interesting to see what kind of work load AIC deals with from here on out.

I can't help thinking of what happened to SNK, when Aruze snapped them up and basically raped their IP to churn out pachislots featuring their characters. SNK's actual business of developing games? Pretty much ignored. ¬_¬

AIC+ also just concluded Asobi Ni Ikuyo [Bombshells from the Sky (?!? must be an engrish thing)]
Which looks really good, and is available on Crunchyroll.

AIC is among the most prolific workhorses, but do they even have many properties to exploit? I can only think of Tenchi Muyo, El Hazard, and Bubblegum Crisis, which were produced during their heyday and are past their prime.
Since then, they've been stuck in a rut, doing one harem adaptation after another (most of which are non-descript and utterly average in quality. It may not necessarily be their fault, but the industry seems to have pegged them as a go-to studio for a low budget harem show).

Well TJR, The BD/DVD's of Asobi dropped on 09/15, so we should see if it charts this week... it didn't seem utterly average to me, but YMMV...
In any event, I'm going to labor under the delusion that being owned by a game company is better than being owned by venture capital.

Well, I don't doubt that the shows have been selling recently, but the main point is that they don't own any of those properties. They're just commissioned adaptations.
Maybe that's one reason why the selling price is so low.

Perhaps, but this is a pachinko company we're talking about......
