I really don't care anymore. It'd be nice if he DID do it because now anything his name is attached to is gaurenteed an automatic blockbuster, and called "the best movie ever" even if it's not, but... really don't care anymore.

JC is the one responsible for the 3D fad, so maybe he can use his powers for good by propelling Anime into the mainstream.
Or, judging by the crappy attempts at 3D movies after Avatar's release, it may be a bad thing. |

Ah, but with DBE predating any eventual Battle Angel movie, the baseline has already been set low. |

If he's going to take forever why doesn't he give it to another director and he can just produce it?
EDIT: Watched the first 30 seconds or so of that interview. 9 EFING MINUTES?! Are you kidding me? That's the dumbest thing since I heard Evangelion 1.0 had a bonus with 2 more minutes! Learn you morons in Hollywood, people don't like being double dipped! Sorry end rant. |

Your way more positive on the timing than I am. I'm expecting something more like 2030. |

Sure it is, Jimmy. And I hear it's going to be subtitled "Chinese Democracy" and have an ad for a playable demo of Duke Nukem Forever.
Yuki: That's what I thought, but those DVDs and Blu-Rays sold like hot-cakes, even though there are at least two more editions in the works. |

I'm happy it's still in the works. When his "Dark Angel" series premiered I thought that would be as close as it gets to bringing Alita to the screen. With the rise in popularity of Anime / Manga, combined with the level of technology "Avatar" showed, I'm hopeful it can be pulled off well even if it means I have to wait another decade for it.

Why hasn't ANN said any thing about Battle Angel Alita: Last Order manga being canceled?
I found it sankaku complex. Apparently the manga was canceled for Non-PC wording These are the words that the manga was canceled for:

Looks Like since DBZ movie...every anime/manga or japanese game is about to have a movie version...Tekken wasn't a Big deal....so DBZ...
I wont wait for this one too...also..."Battle Angel Alita" is a strange name for me...since I'm used with the original name..anyway...err..good luck for him(?) |

ANN did say something. Twice, and the first time almost two months ago. Again, this is old news. As linked in this article, ANN reported on the issue when the manga went on hiatus in June. ANN reported on it again earlier this month when Yukito Kishiro revealed his plans for the manga's return. |

I'm sorry WTF are you talking about? "People don't like being double dipped." Um, ok, but those people wouldn't see the movie again anyways. Why should you even care? And so what if his director's cut is only nine minutes longer, maybe that's the most he could add back while still keeping the pacing and everything else good. |

I'm not that familiar with the Battle Angel series, so I can't judge the quality of the source material; but I remain unconvinced that Cameron can make a movie that doesn't look like a twelve year old wrote it.

And what have you written exactly? Point me to the novels, Mr. Pretentious. And yeah, no anime has been influenced by Aliens and the Terminator series. Cameron's stories are great, and he creates compelling science fiction with good characters and themes. I'm sorry, but this fanboi go against the grain band wagon crap doesn't change the fact the man is responsible for some of the greatest genre movies of all time. |

Cameron is a very punchable man. Would be better if his ex-wife made it.
