So, how much more will the limited edition bundle cost? Or is the dvd just like a freebie thing? I couldn't find a price on that picture.
Slightly off-topic: How does region coding work with computer DVD drives? Would I need an "R2" dvd drive or something? Or can I change the region on the drive somehow? Or is it just dependent on what I have the OS's system locale set to? |

I'm assuming it will be cheaper than the recent Negima OADs (where the LE manga is ￥3,690 while the regular is only ￥440), and more like the cost of the 15th volume of the Negima manga which came with a preview of the first OVA. Actually, I think that was at the normal price since I can't find a specific LE version. I can't think of any other manga at present that came with a promotional DVD rather than a full OVA episode.
Region coding for computers requires the drive and playback software both to be set to the correct region, and the drive's firmware will only allow a few changes. Some drives can be flashed to be region-free, which carries some risk and assumes someone has produced patched firmware, otherwise you'd need to buy a copy of anydvd - but be aware that it does not work with all drives (my laptop's Matshita one for example) so try before you buy., |
