Still have not seen it available anywhere. I assume we have to wait until the dvd comes out in Japan before we can get a decent sub of this thing? I really want to see it. I would love even more if it was licensed here so I could just buy it.

It's already been subbed for quite awhile. I'm pretty sure it the quality was at least decent as well.

I would have loved seeing Time of Eve win over Summer Wars, but it didn't have nearly the amount of hype, and I'm pretty sure it began in '08 anyway. That said, Summer Wars was a pretty decent and entertaining movie.

The Japanese video release was just this week, actually.

EDIT: and yeah, there's been a poor-quality, English subbed Korean bootleg floating around for a while now, as I understand it.

QTS just released it today too. Wait a week, and you will get some quality groups involved...(if you are into fansubs/rips, that is).

Official subs have existed since at least September if not before, but you won't be seeing those doing the rounds on the net. Not sure about the fansub situation though.

Saw it this past Monday at MIT, and was blown away by it. Not only should it be given a wide US release, but it should also win the Oscar for Best Animated Feature AND Best Original Screenplay (and I don't think there's ever been a time I thought an amazing anime film deserved that).
